Hi, my name is Be. I started Websites For The People to provide a quality, honest service to ordinary people offering their own quality, honest goods and services.

I've been tinkering with computers since I was a kid in the 1990s. My first coding experiences were making custom maps for the video game Warcraft III. The first coding project I actually completed was for a psychology experiment for my undergraduate thesis.

After graduating college, I tried doing freelance web development. Not having much experience at that time, I did what everyone else said to do and used WordPress. But I hated WordPress, and PHP, the programming language that WordPress uses. I didn't end up putting much effort into the business. Instead, I avoided dealing with WordPress by writing much more fun C++ code for the free DJ software Mixxx.

After a couple of years of contributing to Mixxx for fun, and some twists and turns in life, I noticed that I had developed coding skills that could be lucrative. So I got a job writing C++ and Rust desktop applications. Even though I had tried to avoid working for Big Tech, through the consulting company I was working for, I ended up working on a project for Amazon anyway. Looking at a bleak tech job market in an increasingly fascist world, I realized that nobody was going to give me a job writing code that didn't destroy the world and my soul.

So I decided to offer my skills directly to ordinary people around me instead of selling my labor for some venture captialist's latest idea to make our lives worse. I circled back to freelance web development, but now with the technical judgement of 10 years of coding experience to know that I can provide a better service by writing code myself.
